As part of our protocol to match our dogs with the perfect family for them, we need to get some general information about you and your family.

Applicants often ask how long it will take to adopt a dog. That can sometimes be a difficult question to answer.  Often, we have approved adopters waiting in the wings or because of social media we may get inundated with new applications.  We ask for your patience and understanding so our volunteers can process applications, evaluate dogs, conduct phone interviews and arrange home visits.  This can sometimes take time and is really a matter of matching the right dog for the right family. This does not reflect negatively on any one applicant.   We look forward to learning more about you!

Before you begin filling out an application, please understand that a majority of our dogs are rescued with partners in the South, and are long-distance adoptions via transport from other states. Our dogs are also fostered in Northern homes, especially puppies. As part of the application, please indicate whether or not you would be interested in a direct adoption. This will help our volunteers process your application appropriately.

The more thorough and detailed you are in completing your application, the more readily our team can proceed in the process. Thank you for taking care to thoughtfully respond to the questions outlined below.
