Most of our dogs are rescued and transported from the south. There they will spend a short time in foster care where they are quarantined, brought up to date on vaccinations and evaluated. These dogs will then come to their northern foster homes where we continue the work to help them become a cherished family member.

VETTING

Your foster may, at some point during their stay with you, require vetting. If you are unable to work with one of our approved veterinarians, due to distance, etc., we would need you to confirm with your vet that they will treat any foster dog in your care should the need arise. GHR requires that all animals within your home be up to date on vaccines and be receiving regular preventatives (e.g. heartworm, flea/tick). *

TRAINING

Please describe any prior experience you have had with obedience training in the past that would benefit your foster dog. *

As part of our foster program, we ask that you work with your foster dog on basic training, including crate work, housebreaking, leash walking and socialization.
